Isn’t it exciting to have a local, nonprofit radio station in your very own community? And to hear the voices of your friends and neighbors—and maybe even your own—coming out of your radio? We think so. If you do, too, then we need your help.

WCOM is small-town radio, but we want our programming to be top notch. To reach that goal, we estimate that our annual budget will be $50,000. That’s peanuts compared to what lots of organizations need to operate—we’re a lean, mean radio machine. We promise to spend your donations wisely—no company cars, not even company skateboards—just the basic equipment and personnel that we need to bring you a meaningful and entertaining program schedule, and to do so consistently over time.

Aside from a station manager we'll be hiring to help us accomplish our goals in a timely fashion, WCOM is an entirely volunteer-powered endeavor. The studio was built by volunteers, the DJs are volunteers, and we receive in-kind contributions that save us money every day.

WCOM is about community. It's about bringing you the music and public affairs programs that reflect your interests and values. It's about the people of the community coming together and pooling their resources to provide a public service.
